Iyengar Yoga in Marbella Nueva Andalucía
"Yoga teaches us to heal what is not necessary to endure, and to endure what cannot be cured".

~ B.K.S. Iyengar

Why Iyengar Yoga?
  • Iyengar Yoga emphasizes the alignment of the body, breath, mind and spirit within each pose.
  • The use of supports (props)
The use of support materials was devised and developed to make the practice of the postures fully accessible to all people with problems, pain, handicaps, etc. It will help you align and balance the body; It will help people with healthy bodies to improve their alignment and spark action.

  • The "sequencing" aspect
The sequencing is a linking together of positions, but also of points and actions to follow. There is a purpose. A good sequence allows you to go deeper by taking the body in each position with the focus of the previous position. A good sequence brings your yoga practice to life.

About Carola Polo
Graduated in 1992 in Journalism, Diploma in English Philology in 1999. All this combined with a job as a flight attendant for Iberia for 15 years.

I started practicing yoga on the recommendation of a friend at the Sivananda Yoga center in Madrid more than 25 years ago. I tried other yoga methods (Vinyasa, Astanga, classical Hatha, etc) until I decided to go deeper and dedicate myself exclusively to Iyengar Yoga. In 2000 I obtained my first Yoga Teacher qualification. Currently preparing to obtain the Level III.
I regularly attend Teacher Seminars in Spain and Europe and whenever I can I go to Pune / India to study with the Iyengar family. So far there have been 6 visits …

I love Yoga and I am grateful for what Yoga has done in my life and I love sharing this precious gift with others. Yoga has been my best friend, coach, counselor, healer, and guru for over 20 years through many challenges, helping me transform in a positive direction with faith and courage.

    Yoga Iyengar
I see Yoga as a way of life. Before being a teacher, I was and am a practitioner.
I got to know it in 2006, on my first trip to India, and I experienced so many benefits that I have been practising it ever since.
I started teaching yoga in 2008, after my first intensive training on my second trip to India (SVYASA, Bangalore).
I worked, and still do, as a masseuse in various techniques and teaching Thai massage, while I have done various trainings in Progressive Vinyasa and Traditional Vinyasa (700 hours).
I got to know Iyengar Yoga in 2009, also in an intensive training in India (Sharat Arora, Goa) and have returned 3 more times to deepen this system (2013, 2015, 2019, Usha Devi, Rishikesh, Chanchani, Dehradun, both disciples of B.K. S. Iyengar) and have been practising it regularly since 2013.
It is the style of yoga that personally makes me more coherent and is of great use to me when it comes to understanding the biomechanics of the human body in order to perform a healing practice. This is the pillar of what I try to transmit in my classes.

What my students say ...
These are some of their opinions:
  • EUGENIA BLANCO
"I love it, it relaxes me, it calms me down, it teaches me ... My best plan of the week. Thank you for your patience, your interest in transmitting your knowledge and for being such a good teacher!"
  • ANA BROWN
"I do a lot of yoga in the UK and I was in Nueva Andalucía for a few days. I went to Carola's class, which was a restorative yoga class for several students. At first I thought she was going to do something different but I stayed when she took the time to explain what she was doing. It was a wonderful therapy class. The temperature in the well-equipped room, perfect. It is obvious that she is an experienced and talented teacher and she broadcast her class in both Spanish and English."
  • THERESA EKMAN
"Carola is a very straightforward yoga instructor who focuses on doing the poses correctly. She is not afraid to correct her students, which is what I like. She is caring and positive in approaching her as she tries to help people improve. I have learned a lot in class from her and I definitely recommend her. She is the best teacher I have ever had."
